Almost every home has one and often more than one-the recliner. They are probably the most comfortable chair in the home for relaxing, reading, watching that favorite movie, or recovering from an illness.
Things you should consider when selecting the perfect chair for your home.
First, is the setting formal or informal? Most recliners are placed in family rooms or great room where people do most of their living. However, today’s styles, designs, and fabrics make them appropriate in formal settings as well.
Second, what kind of feel do you want to have in the covering? Leathers can be plush and almost fabric like or they can be somewhat cold and stiff. Vinyl may be cheaper but it leaves much to be desired when sitting down and anticipating that instant warm feeling you get in a fabric based covering. Cloth is usually more gentle and people quickly feel its reciprocating warmth when getting comfortable. Even microfibers have found their way into recliners opening a host of new sensations.
Third, what size of chair do you want? True, you may be limited by space or constraints with walls and corners. Most people try to fit as much chair as possible since more space means more ways to relax in the chair itself.
Finally, what kind of quality are you looking for in the chair? Budgets of course can drive most of the purchasing decision. As my folks used to tell me, “If you can discipline yourself and save a little money now, buy the higher quality item later so your dollar lasts longer.” Good advice in my experience. Consumer reviews and professional analysis will certainly help a lot.
